I semi-frequently go to the gym, near to work. I go because life in south africa is so sedentary and without some exercise, I would swell to the size of Texas. For the most part everyone is pretty much well behaved some take things a bit too seriously and there are the usual “I come to the gym for a chat” rather than a work out types and we have the mandatory “profuse sweater” who floods the immediate area with a thick film of their own bodily fuild. No, what bothers me the most is the changing rooms. Obviously, after an hours workout a shower goes without saying. So does a towel. I can’t understand why guys insist on wandering about the changing rooms stark naked. It’s not that I’m intimidated, It’s just a case of “dude, cover yourself up” . Worse is the guy I saw a couple of days ago brushing his teeth whilst in his birthday suit (it was all a bit too jiggly, I may need therapy). Seriously, that was just a bit too much for anyone to have to witness especially at 8am.
